We could not complete our mission without YOU!
** Our school's PTO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making your donation tax-deductible. Our tax ID number is 47-1107928.
Here are just a few of the recent projects that your financial support of the PTO has helped fund:
- Lü interactive playground in our gym
- Eagle’s Nest Initiative, software & prizes to provide positivity, mentorship and fellowship for students of all ages
- Modern tech-enhanced whiteboards for all classrooms
- New state-of-the-art playground with exciting equipment and safety upgrades
- Construction of the outdoor classroom, grounds facelifts and landscaping, including our Buddy Benches
- Individual teacher grants totaling more than $8500 in 2023-24 and $1000 yearly grants for each of the six ENCORE teacher to enhance learning in all instructional areas
- Renovations to the teacher’s lounges, library and front office
We also fund events that bring joy to our Blue Grass family, including Meet & Greet, Carnival, Fun Day, Field Day, Kindergarten Round Up & Popsicle Party, 5th Grade End of Year Party, Literacy Night, STEM Night, Fine Arts Night, and much more.
We strongly believe that support of students and teachers is the cornerstone of what makes our school so special. We support our students by funding Safety Patrol, Eagle Care, Backpack Programs and birthday ice creams for each student. Of immense importance, our PTO provides funding for teacher development and monthly staff appreciation events throughout the year. To give back on a larger scale, Blue Grass Elementary PTO donated almost $3,000 to our community members in need over the winter holiday and launched the Share the Love program to support local schools with funding gaps and no parent organization. Share the Love held teacher appreciation events at three of these schools last year.
This year, we need your help more than ever. Our school culture is crucial to student growth and success, and Dr. Cutter is passionate about further connecting the students of all grades through the Eagle’s Nest Initiative. The more our school feels like a true “family,” the higher our students will achieve academically and develop as great citizens. We hope to use PTO funds to continue to support this important initiative and create a better learning environment while focusing on student connectivity, natural mentorships, and the further development of character and manners. We also look forward to brightening up the walls throughout the school with memorable framed photographs of artwork of past and present Blue Grass students and staff, allowing us to celebrate the family culture our community is so invested in.
Last year, we also kicked off our capital campaign to add turf, new fencing, and benches to our sports field, a collective effort to improve amenities for Blue Grass families as well as those in our community who utilize our front grounds for their families, friends and community sports leagues. We are halfway to our goal thanks to your generosity, with $80,000 in the fund! To start the project and enter construction, we must raise the additional $80,000 this year.
